Bedford Commits to Operation Clean Sweep/Blue

Bedford today announces its next step toward achieving zero plastic waste with its participation in Operation Clean Sweep/Blue.

Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) is a global program aimed at helping plastic resin handling companies such as Bedford work toward achieving zero pellet, flake and powder loss, protecting the environment and saving valuable resources.

By becoming a member of OCS Blue, Bedford is committing to ongoing reporting on its plastic recycling practices and all steps taken to eliminate plastic waste. These practices range from leveraging OCS tools to educate employees and transportation partners on best practices for plastic reduction to continuous reviews of machinery and housekeeping practices to ensure no plastic is lost or wasted.

Bedford has long followed OCC’s best practices for keeping plastic waste out of the environment, and we are excited to take this commitment deeper with our pledge to and participation in OCS/Blue.

This commitment aligns and complements our other sustainability initiatives, like our in-house recycling system, TagBack™.
