Our Anti-Dumping Petition

We are steadfast champions for our community and American manufacturing. Since our founding in 1966, we have manufactured our Bedford Twist Tie®, ElastiTag®, and other product lines in Worthington, Minnesota. We have never moved any jobs overseas or outsourced any portion of our manufacturing. We intend to keep it that way, and keep creating jobs built on American innovation.
In March, we filed an antidumping petition with the US Department of Commerce, which has recently attracted some attention. We had witnessed growing competition from China coming into the United States at prices that we believe are unobtainable through fair competition. Our petition presented the Department of Commerce and International Trade Commission with evidence and asked them to consider investigating the matter. After careful review, both the DOC and ITC agreed that we had presented sufficient evidence for them to open an investigation into the dumping of twist tie from China. We now await a preliminary decision from them.
We chose to act now, and act early. Over the last several decades, many American manufacturers grew unvigilant. They failed to act and their products left the country. We will not be one.
Our goal is simply to create an even playing field and fair market for twist tie in the United States. We hope to continue providing Bedford Twist Tie for essential packaging, medical, and traceability solutions for many years to come, and continue innovating in those markets.
